Get Ready, Get Sets, Go

It's just not every day that I make a complete jewelry set. For one thing, they're pretty demanding and take a while, and for another thing, people just don't buy them very often. 
None of that seemed to matter when I got started on this amazing Necklace / Bracelet / Earrings jewelry ensemble recently though. It started with the beads. These little green glass beads were from a batch of beads that a friend gave me, hoping I could do something with them. I've kept them for a while but knew I had to do "something" with these amazing little nuggets. 
This is a bead shape I call a "nugget" because it's basically irregular. To me this makes it wonderful, giving is an organic quality that reminds me of a natural stone. This nugget is basically triangular in shape, but the exact size and shape of each bead varies. I have begun to appreciate how glass is, in fact, an art…

Getting Unstuck

I am learning a lot of things about business by running a business. But you could say it's a little like building the boat while you're already on the water. There are just so many things I didn't think I would ever learn about, let alone care about, and here I am learning and caring about things that in college and beyond, I still thought were totally irrelevant to me. Twist a few wires and arrange a few pixels, and it's amazing what can happen.

Today I'm thinking about blogging, and mainly, why I haven't done much of it recently. I mean, I'm a writer by nature and habit, and the "idea" of blogging doesn't really hold much fear for me. Moreover the nature of my business, i.e. Nickel Free Jewelry - has a lot of research and information behind it that I am eager and willing to share with, well, anyone who will listen.
